Organisations delivering the Information, Diagnostic and Brokerage (IDB) service will use the register to identify sources of expertise that can deliver the business support needs that brokers have identified with their customers and details of services providers will be supplied to customers and potential customers. In addition, the information will be used for following up on brokerage activity and projects for evaluation purposes (including by phone, email or post) and for helping to resolve disputes between the parties involved. Business Link in the West Midlands will use the information for identifying gaps in products and services available to customers, developing existing services, market research and marketing purposes. This will include letting service providers know about new services, initiatives or events that may be of interest; targeting offers, promotions, services and other events to businesses and notifying service providers of changes to the Business Support Network (locally and nationally) or to the Select Supply Supplier Database. As part of our work with other publicly funded organisations we may share core company contact information, but will not share any private information. We may also pass your details to agents acting on our behalf but we will not sell, rent or disclose your information to any third parties without your consent unless required by law. We do not transfer information outside of the European Economic Area. Anonymised information will be used along with other customer information by the wider business support network, both regionally and nationally, as a way of understanding customers and the business support products and services that they access. This information will also be used in performance management of the IDB service. The information held within the Select Supply Supplier Database will be made available to registered providers and other users (Business Link staff) as specified above through encrypted password enabled web access. Supplier details and the company description may be displayed in future on the Business Link in the West Midlands online directory of suppliers.
